Russell has been a member of Fort Yuma Rotary since 2000. He has served on the Board of Directors and is involved in many of the fund raising activities. | Border Counties Coalition | Russell serves on the Border Counties Coalition as a representative of Yuma County. The United States/Mexico Border Counties Coalition is a nonpartisan, consensus-based policy and technical forum founded to address challenges facing county governments located on the United States/Mexico Border. Recently he introduced two new resolutions designed to assist local farming operations in obtaining the labor they need to harvest their crops through improving the H2A visa program and asking for a commuter worker program. http://www.bordercounties.org/ |
| Yuma Business Education Collaborative (YBEC) |
Russell recently joined the Yuma Business Education Collaborative, a think tank designed to to promote collaborative efforts among K-12 schools, local businesses and other interested parties in an effort to both encourage students to continue their education beyond high school and also to provide training and mentoring for those wishing to enter the work force. |
| Yuma County Health Initiatives Coalition (YCHIC) | Russell is a member of the Yuma County Health Initiatives Coalition, a group working to bring health insurance to those who do not currently have health insurance. The current focus is on assisting small businesses obtain affordable health insurance for their employees. |
| YUHS Strategic Planning Team |
Russell was invited to join the YUHS Strategic Planning Team, a group working to bring a new focus and long term strategic plan to Yuma Union High School District. The committee includes students, parents, staff, board members, representatives from AWC, NAU-Yuma, Yuma County, the City of Yuma, YRMC, MCAS, and local employers. It will be looking to establish priorities and goals for the district and the district will then develop an action plan to implement the goals and strategies for the future. http://www.yumaunion.org/index.cfm?pID=2191 |
| Offenders with Mental Impairment (OMI) for the Yuma County Detention Facility |
Russell has strongly supported and attended the Offenders with Mental Impairment effort at the Yuma County Sheriff's office. This group has been meeting since mid 2007 and has made tremendous strides in bringing together the various agencies who serve our community to assist persons with mental impairment. These "competing" agencies have come together with the staff at the jail to bring services to those folks who end up in jail due to mental impairment issues. The jail staff has worked hard to bring new and innovative processes into their routine to assist the agencies in assisting persons in need of services. The agencies and jail staff are to be highly commended for their efforts and progress. |
| Yuma County Chamber of Commerce | Russell McCloud's Accurate Automotive Attention LLC has been a member of Yuma County Chamber of Commerce for many years now. He currently serves as the County representative on both the Legislative Affairs Committee and the Transportation Committee for the Chamber of Commerce. |
| Amberly's Place | Russell serves on the board of Amberly's Place, a victim's advocacy center serving victims of child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and elder abuse. While in Project CENTRL, a rural leadership program, Russell was tasked with starting a project within the Yuma community that would bring benefit to the community and preferably would remain in place in the future. That was 2002 and the result of that "internship" was the fund raising committee for Amberly's Place. Born out of that first group was "Amberly's Week In Paradise", a fund raising effort that has been successful and continues on today. Russell was invited to join the board of Amberly's Place in 2003 and he continues to serve today. |
